When will Mexico start feeling pressure from the US government about the massive build-up of Chinese companies "near-shoring" on America's front door? The build-up is well underway. If Tiktok is considered a Trojan horse, geez how about a US-Mexico border with thousands of "warehouses" feet from US soil?
Acapulco's "rebuild" will be hampered by the fact that there's almost zero international tourism supporting the destination. There are zero international flights to Acapulco (zero!) but for an occasional charter or a seasonal-only nonstop that is 1-2 days a week. That's it. So, with international capital/hotel investment embrace this recovery? Not likely.

It’s a very interesting question, and a more complex triangle than it seems I think. I will be writing more on this topic soon!

Agree with you Greg, Acapulco’s attraction to international tourists has been in steady decline and this disaster will set it back even further.
